The Story of The Fiji Trade Commission office started when the Fiji Prime Minister Hon. Voreqe Bainimarama visited Port Moresby in 2013. It was than decided that the setting up of the Trade Commission in Papua New Guinea was confirmed in the Prime Minister’s 2014 National Budget announcement. This has been further reinforced through the fast-growing trade relations between the two countries. The Attorney – General and Minister for Industry and Trade, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, said Fiji has strong relations with Papua New Guinea since Independence.
At the Fiji Trade Commission our role is to promote Fiji and secure trade and investment opportunities in PNG. The Fiji Trade Commission office in PNG is responsible for undertaking investment and export marketing missions, organize / participate in trade and investment exibitions ,create and strengthen networks with relevant public and private stakeholders. The Fiji Trade Commission office is also responsible to undertake market research in order to identify potentials for investment and export opportunities available in PNG.
